Introduction
The
Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School, the RKK School for
short, has entered into its fifteenth year. Each student and
teacher of this institution is firmly committed to an RKK School
Culture which spells creativity in thought and deed. The learning
experience leads to a quest for more. The School strongly believes
and understand the linkages between values and a purpose in life.
Academically,
the school is divided into the Pre-primary, the Primary, the
Secondary and the Senior Secondary sections. Each section
functions systematically with emphasis on age related learning
skills. The students are prepared for the AISSE (Class X) and the
AISSCE (Class XII) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary
Education every year. In the Senior Secondary classes, students
choose either Science, Commerce or the Humanities stream of study.
The
ex-students, the 'Aarkekians' continue to occupy a very special
niche in the school.
Annual
Day
School
Day for the Juniors was celebrated on the 22nd of December 2005.
Mr. Rajendra Singh, winner of the Ramon Magasaysay Award was the
special guest for the occasion. Chaitanya Gehlot and Smriti Bhati
from class IV were awarded the Best Allrounder Trophy in the
junior school.
The
theme for the evening of the Senior School Day (23rd December
2005), was ‘Viraat Vikram’ Valour …….. infinite. Our
special invitee was Air Chief Marshal S.P. Tyagi, the Chief of the
Air Staff. Purva Gupta was the Best All-rounder and Sri Bhawani
House was the overall winner of the Maharaja Gaj Singh Inter House
Trophy.
Interactions
with Prominent People
Several
experts interacted with the students during the year.
Kalamandalam
Raman Kutty Nair, a living legend from Kerala stunned the girls
with an astonishing performance in Kathakali. The gorgeous costume
and make up and the sheer dynamism of the dance was indeed a rare
display of extraordinary talent and professional training. Brig.
Phillip Campose the special invitee of the day, also interacted
with the maestro as an art admirer and a special guest.
Padma
Vibhushan Uma Sharma captured the heart and minds of the students
and guests with a SPIC MACAY lecture demonstration in Kathak, an
ever rhythmic and expressive classical dance form of North India.
Smt.
Tejan Bai captivated the audience with her strong resonating voice
and folklore.
Acharya
Hari Palji Shastri and Shri Goverdhanlalji conducted a Yoga
awareness programme in the Maharaja Gaj Singhji Block.
Prof.
N. L. Mitra, ex-Director National Law School University of India,
Bangalore and founder Vice Chancellor N.L.U. Jodhpur and certified
as among the top 50 legal academicians of the world by the
American Bar Association, answered a volley of questions from the
keenly interested and inquisitive students.
Dr.
A.M. Singhvi, an alumnus of Havard Business School and the
Manchester Business School enlightened the students on corporate
social responsibility and women empowerment.
Dr.
Rajeev Desai, an eye specialist addressed the middle school with
an all important interaction on eye care.
Guru
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar founder of the Art of living course, had an
informal question answer session relating to varied issues
concerning the lives of students in the computer world today.

this year have taken the school strength to 900 from 814.
Co-curricular
Activities
In
the pre-primary and primary classes, regular activities include
games, art, craft, skating, yoga and music. The new Art Gallery
has enhanced display, workspace and storage of art work/material.
In
memory of late Shri Padma Bhushan Shri Komal Kothari a folk music
concert was held in the new library by very young and talented
artistes.
Games
& Sports
Besides
regular games and sports, ‘specialised coaching’ continues in
basketball, handball, gymnastics and tennis. The school handball
team won the Gold Medal in the under fourteen National Handball
Tournament (CBSE) held at Jamshedpur in November this year
defeating Jananadeep, Karnataka in the finals. Bhavya Choudhary,
Surabhi Mewara and Udaya Kanwar were chosen for CBSE best talent
scholarship for sports. Manoj Rathore and Surbhi Mewara have been
selected to play in the Rajasthan State Team.
A
smart interhouse parade competition alongwith the sports day in
February showcased the fitness and form of our students when Brig.
Amit Sharma inspected the parade and took the salute. Shri Ambika
House was the best marching squad and the best house.
Debates
& Quiz Competitions
The
Annual Inter School Siddharth Bhandari Memorial Science and
Environment Quiz was an overwhelming success with RKK School,
Jodhpur winning the trophy. Mr. S.N. Jain IPS, IG BSF was the
Special Guest for the morning. The Mayoor School, Ajmer stood
second followed by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidhyalaya, Jaipur.
Enakshi
Singh from the school was judged as the best speaker at the '6th
Inter-Institutional L.N. Birla Zonal Debate Competition' held at
India International Institute of Management (IIIM), Sector 12,
Mahaveer Marg, Mansarovar, Jaipur organized by India International
School, Jaipur and Birla High School, Kolkata on Wednesday, 31st
August 2005. The topic was 'Money Cannot Buy Happiness'.
The
'6th Inter-Institutional L.N. Birla National Debate Competition'
was held at Birla High School, Kolkata on 18th November 2005. The
Zonal Finalists alongwith six guest schools from Kolkata
participated and debated on the topic ‘Tradition is an obstacle
to progress’. Enakshi Singh from our school was ranked second
speaking against the motion.
Shraddha
Mehta of the School was adjudged the Best Speaker in the VIII V.V.
John Memorial Inter - School Debate held on 15th October 2005. She
was given a cash prize of Rs.3500/-. The proposition for the
debate was ‘Euthanasia Should Be Legalized’.

Development
A new dining hall is near
completion and will be used from the next academic session i.e.
2007-2008.
A new Reception Centre with a new School
gate and circuit road has been constructed to improve school
